MIDNIGHT
(MY HERO ACADEMIA)
DESCRIPTION:

I followed My Hero Academia, which I was skeptical about (I’m not a fan of anime too focused on teenagers), after being drawn in by my niece. It took me back to my childhood, when I used to watch Dragon Ball Z back in middle school :D
And I have to say, I enjoyed it!
Needless to say, the character Midnight immediately caught my eye. Being a teacher at U.A. High School, and therefore more mature, I immediately felt she was more in my wheelhouse for a possible cosplay.
I have to admit that I was very disappointed that, in the end, the character wasn’t explored much and, in fact, always seemed like a slightly more marginal presence. By the time she met her fate, it almost felt like a way to get rid of a character that maybe wasn’t very popular. I don’t know, but I personally found her very appealing, so I had fun presenting my version through this cosplay.
I put the costume together by combining some pieces I already had lying around (like the catsuit – which isn’t white like hers, but I think the metallic silver lycra gives it an extra touch –, the cuffs, the boots, the wig – I know her hair is black, but I had this choice and I like it!), while other parts I made specifically for it. For the corset, I found an elastic waist cincher that I modified by adding the central part and the collar with foam, attaching fake gems. The riding crop was made from a cardboard tube and EVA foam. Very simple!
As always for my sets, I did post-production afterward, replacing backgrounds and gathering materials using photo modes from some video games. No AI was used, but on my socials I will show a “before and after” video of one of the shots and the creation process!
That said, enjoy the gallery ^_^
